November Summary and December Preview

November started out all dreary and cold, but it ended on a warm note. It was weird. November is usually chilly and rainy, but it was warm and sunny. It’s supposed to start cooling off, which I’m fine with. December is supposed to be cold and wintry!

On the bright side, the warm weather helped me to get out and get my Christmas shopping mostly done. I still have a few more things to pick up, but I’m about 85% finished. Woohoo! And it was all done locally, not online. I love my local businesses, and I want them to stay open, so no online Christmas shopping for me. Besides. With as much trouble as I’ve had with shipping stuff of late, I’d be afraid that none of it would arrive in time, no matter how early I ordered.

I finished eight books this month, but I feel like I could have read more, if only I would stop reading the news so much and spend a little less time on Facebook. I’d like to do better in December, but we’ll see. It’s a busy, busy month after all. On the bright side, I only need to read four more books to double my 2016 challenge. I had challenged myself to read 60 books, and my count for the year currently stands at 116.

After reading Nick Hornby’s Ten Years in the Tub: A Decade Soaking in Great Books, I think I will mimic a feature of his column: a monthly list of books bought, followed by the list of books read. I can promise that they will rarely line up.

Books Bought:

Books Read:

December’s reading list includes:
