Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme where we randomly select a book from our Goodreads To Be Read list and share it with the world. It’s hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners, so be sure to link back to her site so that we can all see what everyone plans to read!
The Last Wish (The Witcher #1)
by Andrzej Sapkowski
Fantasy
384 pages
First published in 1993
From Goodreads: Geralt of Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin.
And a cold-blooded killer.
His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world.
But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good. . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.
The international hit that inspired the video game: The Witcher.
I’m not sure where I first saw this book. I think it was in an article about science fiction and fantasy series by authors who aren’t from the US or UK. The synopsis is a bit sparse, but while I don’t play video games, I’ve heard good things about The Witcher, so I think I might enjoy this book.
This one is next on my list!
I’ll look for your review! I hope you like it!
If it is anywhere near comparable to the video game, it will be great! The games have fantastic storylines.
