It’s as though the ancient mythologies had been rewritten by Borges or Calvino; Metamorphica is an archipelago in which to linger for a while; it reflects a little light from the morning of the world.
I haven’t read the entirety of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, so I feel like I should read it before I tackle Metamorphica, but this looks like a lovely book. And perhaps one I could understand without tackling the entirety of Ovid’s sometimes-dense poetry…
