State of the ARC is an update/meme that I’ve seen a time or two, but heck if I can remember where it was or who started it. At any rate, it’s a thing where we check in with the ARCs we’re reading or are about to read, and frankly I’m pretty excited about these books!
Recently Finished:
The Winter of the Witch (Winternight Trilogy #3) by Katherine Arden
Expected publication date: January 8, 2019 by Del Ray
Currently Reading:
The Monster Baru Cormorant (The Masquerade #2) by Seth Dickinson
Published October 30, 2018 by Tor/Tom Doherty Associates (this was a belated approval I received a few weeks after the book came out)
Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him by Tracy Borman
Expected Publication date: January 8, 2019 by Atlantic Monthly Press
To Read:
The Paragon Hotel by Lyndsay Faye
Expected Publication date: January 8, 2019 by G.P. Putnam’s Sons
A Dangerous Collaboration (Veronica Speedwell #4) by Deanna Raybourn
Expected Publication date: March 12, 2019 by Berkley Publishing Group
I have a lot of reading to do before the end of the year, but I have a feeling I’m going to like all of it. The Monster Baru Cormorant is all about political intrigue and leaves me guessing at every turn; Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him deals with one of my favorite eras of English history; I have loved every book I’ve read by Lyndsay Faye, and I’m sure The Paragon Hotel will be a good one, too. A gigantic Thank You to NetGalley and the publishers for providing the digital ARCs!
I’m also excited to start on A Dangerous Collaboraton, as the Veronica Speedwell books are my second favorite mystery series, but because it doesn’t come out until March, it’s going to have to wait for a little while.
Look out for reviews for the first four of these books later this month!
Looking forward to your thoughts on winter of the witch!
