From Goodreads: In the early 1900s, a young woman searches for her place in the world after finding a mysterious book in this captivating and lyrical debut.
“A gorgeous, aching love letter to stories, storytellers and the doors they lead us through…absolutely enchanting.” — Christina Henry, national bestselling author of Lost Boys and Alice
In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place.
Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds, and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.
Everything about this book looks amazing. The cover is gorgeous and the synopsis sounds intriguing. Because Harrow is a debut author, I know absolutely nothing about her writing, so I am looking forward to giving it a try.
I’m also really looking forward to this book! It sounds so enchanting! 🙂
I’m looking forward to this as well! I actually won a copy in a Goodreads giveaway (yay!), but I’m holding off on reading it until closer to the release date. The cover is so gorgeous!
Yay for winning it! I probably entered the same giveaway, and did not win. Oh, well! It is definitely a beautiful cover. One of the best ones I’ve seen this year.
