“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.”
-Rainer Maria Rilke

Thanks! The ocean is rather hypnotic for me, especially since I rarely see it.
That makes perfect sense. For myself, I prefer northern beaches that no one expects you to swim at.
The ocean has always been a source of comfort and solace for me. I often find the vastness somehow grounds me when I am struggling and helps me put things back into perspective. I could spend the rest of my days here on the NW Coast waking to the sound of waves and smell of saltwater.
I am with you on the sound of the waves. Not so much on the scent of salt water.
This is beautiful… personally I get kind of dizzy and nauseous if I stare at the ocean too long, but I envy people who find it relaxing.
Oh yes well, with my reaction I have always felt most comfortable situated myself squarely between any major coastlines.
