I usually have dinner with friends on Wednesday nights, but they were busy so I’ll see them next week. Since it was a beautiful night, I decided to go out to the park and take some photos while the light was good.

No offense to your friends but with views like that…. I’d postpone dinner until the weather became unagreable.
I will go out when the weather is awful, too. It’s ridiculous fun to go out on the ice in the middle of winter.

You were fortunate to find some incredibly interesting skies, as well as the great light. I love that first photo, with the tree framing the left side and those bright highlights in the clouds to the right, with the beautiful streaks of light shining on all those different shades of brown. Having dinner with friends is great, but this seems like a fairly nice alternative when schedules don’t work out. 🙂
I was pretty lucky, given that the skies have been a bit cloudless lately. I’m glad I went out to the park instead of going out to eat at that time or just staying at home. I had a great time wandering around the park. I think we’ll be back to our normal schedule next week.
