StoryGraph Saturday is a weekly thing where I randomly choose a book from my To Read pile on StoryGraph and show it off to remind me that it’s there and to show it to you in case you find it interesting, too.

Even Though I Knew the End

From The StoryGraph:
An exiled augur who sold her soul to save her brother’s life is offered one last job before eternity in hell. When she turns it down, her client sweetens the pot by offering up the one payment she can’t resist—the chance to have a future where she grows old with the woman she loves. To succeed, she must track down the White City Vampire, Chicago’s most notorious serial killer, in the three days she has left. If she fails, only hell and heartbreak await.
I heard about this book from the BookTube channel SFF180. Thomas has started up his Mailbag Monday videos, in which he showcases the books he’s received advanced copies of. Once I heard the premise, I knew I wanted to give this a shot, so I put in a hold request at my library. They have a few copies on order, but they haven’t arrived yet so whenever they come in, I’ll pick it up and give it a shot.
I really liked this one! I didn’t necessarily care about every little plot detail, but the mood, the characters, the feelings — all completely on point. Hope you enjoy it!
That’s good to hear! Mood and characters can pull me through a book that doesn’t have the best writing or most intricately-planned plot. And novellas are usually a hit for me anyway.
