Goodreads Monday: The Pleasure of Reading

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme where we randomly select a book from our Goodreads To Be Read list and share it with the world. It’s hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners, so be sure to link back to her site so that we can all see what everyone plans to read!

The Pleasure of Reading
Antonia Fraser, editor
Nonfiction/Essays
256 pages
First published in October 1992 by Bloomsbury Publishing PLC

From Goodreads:
In this work 40 leading writers explain what first made them interested in reading. They describe the comics and childhood classics that first inspired them to read, and what today continues to do so. Contributors include Catherine Cookson, Jeanette Winterson, John Mortimer and Sue Townsend.

I always enjoy reading books about books, so this collection of essays by a historian I respect and whose work I enjoy should be right up my alley. Now it’s just a matter of tracking down a copy.

  1. I’ve added this to my own TBR as well! I love essays. They are my favorite non-fiction format. Plus, who doesn’t love reading about books?!

How do you select which book you will share? What allows for the randomness of this post series?
