StoryGraph Saturday is a weekly thing where I randomly choose a book from my To Read pile on StoryGraph and show it off to both remind myself that it’s there and to show it to you in case you might find it interesting, too.

The Art of Prophecy (The War Arts Saga #1)
Wesley Chu
Fantasy
528 pages
Expected Publication: August 9, 2022
From The StoryGraph:
It has been foretold: A child will rise to defeat the Eternal Khan, a cruel immortal god-king, and save the kingdom.
The hero: Jian, who has been raised since birth in luxury and splendor, celebrated before he has won a single battle.
But the prophecy was wrong.
Because when Taishi, the greatest war artist of her generation, arrives to evaluate the prophesied hero, she finds a spoiled brat unprepared to face his destiny.
But the only force more powerful than fate is Taishi herself. Possessed of an iron will, a sharp tongue–and an unexpectedly soft heart–Taishi will find a way to forge Jian into the weapon and leader he needs to be in order to fulfill his legend.
What follows is a journey more wondrous than any prophecy can foresee: a story of master and student, assassin and revolutionary, of fallen gods and broken prophecies, and of a war between kingdoms, and love and friendship between deadly rivals.
I saw this on NetGalley, though I didn’t request it because it’s 528 pages long, and I already have a 500+ page book to read for NetGalley in August. But it looks interesting, so I will see if I can convince my library to buy a copy or two.
This one caught my attention, as well. I’ve yet to try anything by the author, and not sure when I’d actually get around to trying this one, but I would like to.
Yeah, I don’t know if I’ll get to it when it comes out, or if that will happen well after the fact. We’ll see. It might depend on the reviews I see when it gets closer to the release date.
